You're the reason they hit 70 and haven't got the first clue how to group with their character. Seriously. At level 70, there are TONS of ways to make much more money than by running lowbies through instances, so go farm primals or gather ores or herbs, or just kill trash and sell vendor drops. Make the lowbies group and do instances the right way so that they're not clueless morons when they hit 70. Please.
I just paid for a run through RFC earlier. Why? Because I like the reputation. I am one of those people that actually does all the low level quests, buys gear, etc. But, I fund it out of the alt's pocket. My mage had 25+G at level 15, just by using logic and game knowledge. I didn't the first time around, but I could probably buy an epic mount by the time I hit 40, and an epic flier shortly after if not at 70.
I have no intention of clawing my eyes out over the low level idiocy in those groups. They are going to learn their lessons regardless of whether or not I am there. I grouped to kill Dar'Khan a few days ago. I realized too late that I would have been better off solo, as all my group members did was not listen and pull excess aggro.
I am debating whether or not I will group through WC; I hope that the players will have some small ounce of logic in their brains to make it bearable.
The players that suck at 70 mostly have never run an instance. They have probably never even entered one. They didn't get run through them, they just skipped any quests that required a group, or didn't quest at all.
Oh yeah, and the person that ran me through was level 30. Sure, he has better ways to make money, but 3G for half an hour of work isn't bad for most at that level. It isn't much, but it is worth it.
I'm sorry, but I am pretty sure me partying through RFC on my mage would make it any better. I couldn't learn about the hate line, as few tanks bother learning how to hold aggro. I couldn't learn CC, as idiots that want to smack the sheep are the bane of my existence.
All I can do is hope that once they get through the first two instances or so, they will have learned a decent amount about their class so that I can withstand their flaws.
And, Filterspawn is correct. Some people just are idiots. I try never to run harder quests and instances with a PuG, because they are rarely even passable. If I can spend 3G and avoid that for the same reward, all the better.
Oh yeah, and the DE mats from my run through RFC totaled around 4-5G. I figure you can see the profit I made with minimal work (it was so hard to conjure that water and fire a frost bolt here and there...)
Paying to get through lower instances is perfectly acceptable. You know whether or not you need additional help w/ your class. And, honestly, if you do, it would be better just to ask a guild mate or a class leader on Alla to help. You don't learn anything in those groups, except that Excedrin > Infants.
